Wrong-way driver causes car accident

Each and every time a resident of the Atlanta area takes to the roads as either the driver or passenger, that individual is placing him or herself in a position to possibly be involved in a car accident. This is true regardless of how good of a driver the person behind the wheel is. When another driver is negligent in some way it is possible that surrounding vehicles on the road could suffer the consequences and be involved in a crash. Several individuals involved in a morning crash earlier this week are well aware of this.

The crash occurred in a neighboring county and involved a total of six motor vehicles. A couple of people were transported to area hospitals following the collision and a woman died.

According to authorities the crash was the result of a car travelling the wrong way down the road. At some point that vehicle crashed into others waiting at a stoplight, head-on. The man driving the wrong-way vehicle was one of the individuals who was injured.

It is currently unclear why the vehicle was travelling in the wrong lane. There are multiple reasons why this could have occurred. Sometimes the person behind the wheel falls asleep. Other times they may be intoxicated. It is also possible that the driver of the wrong-way vehicle suffered a medical episode of some sort which caused him to lose control of the car. An investigation into the fatal car accident will likely reveal what really happened.

The family and friends of the woman who was killed in the crash are likely reeling from her sudden death. In addition to dealing with the emotional toll such an incident takes on those left behind, it is possible that they are concerned about financial matters as well. For these reasons it is possible that her loved ones will decide to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the wrong-way driver. Whether this will occur remains to be seen.
