Man thrown from pickup in auto accident involving 3 vehicles

| May 23, 2014 | Car Accidents

An auto accident can happen at any time in Fulton County. It could be due to weather conditions, another driver being negligent or simply from the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Car accidents can cause serious injury and even death. After an accident, there are numerous concerns that those injured and their families will have. These must be addressed early in the process as an accident investigation commences and liability is determined.

Recently, a three-vehicle accident that occurred in another state sent a 19-year-old man to the hospital. The man was driving a pickup truck and had a 13-year-old girl as his passenger. The vehicle was heading north when it was hit by a another pickup driven by a 20-year-old man. The pickup driven by the 19-year-old flipped over in the crash and hit another vehicle that was at a stop sign. The 19-year-old driver was thrown from the vehicle and rushed to the hospital. Thankfully, the report indicated that no one else was hurt in the auto accident.

When there is a motor vehicle crash with injuries, those who have been hurt and their families will first be focused on getting back to health. However, there are other issues that will undoubtedly crop up making the accident investigation imperative in the immediate aftermath. If a person suffers serious injury, there’s a chance the person will require an extended stay in the hospital. They might miss a substantial time at work. There could be the need for rehabilitation and long-term care. All of these things can be expensive.

In many cases, the insurance company will do whatever it can to shield itself from liability for these hefty costs and try to make a settlement offer early in the process to preclude litigation. While an offer might sound reasonable, it is rarely enough to cover all costs. Those who are injured need to understand the ramifications of the accident and what the law may entitle them to recover.

In this case, one driver was thrown from his truck and suffered injuries that are considered serious. With that in mind, it is important that the circumstances surrounding the incidents like this one are investigated fully so that those harmed can seek the best possible outcomes..
