Fatal car crash claims two lives

| Jul 17, 2014 | Wrongful Death

While most drivers in Fulton County are cautious, obey the rules of the road and operate their vehicles safely, there will always be the possibility of a motor vehicle accident. With an accident of any kind, there is a chance of a fatality. When there is a fatal car crash, it comes as a shock to those who have been left behind. The loss of a loved one can be difficult to face, but when it happens in an accident, it’s even worse. When car accidents lead to an untimely death, it’s important that the family left behind know exactly what happened to cause the incident.

A recent four-car crash in Georgia killed two people a short time before 8 a.m. The accident occurred when a Ford Mustang, heading west, drove onto the eastbound side and hit a Chevy Trailblazer, a Nissan Altima and a Jeep Patriot. The collision caused the Jeep to flip over. The 52-year-old female driver of the Ford was killed as was the 43-year-old female driver of the Nissan. According to the police investigation into the fatal car crash, the driver of the Ford had her cellphone in her hand when she died. It is still being determined whether she was using it at the time.

With an incident involving wrongful death, there are numerous ramifications that might not be considered as the family comes to grips with the emotional impact of the loss of a loved one. The person who died might have been an integral member of the family, a young person just beginning his or her life, the primary earner or a stay-at-home parent. There can be major financial and personal issues if a person dies unexpectedly. In many instances, the family left behind won’t know what to do next. While compensation cannot bring the person back, it can help relieve some of the financial stress on the victims’ family .

In this accident, the woman whose car drove to the other side of the road and into oncoming traffic had her cellphone in her hand. This does not automatically mean she was texting and driving or committing any other traffic violation, but it is imperative that it be fully investigated. The family of the woman who was killed in the subsequent crash should contact an experienced attorney early in the process to learn how the fatal car crash occurred, and to consider pursuing compensation.
