Fatal accident claims life of tow truck worker

| Aug 7, 2014 | Wrongful Death

A fatal accident can happen in Fulton County in any number of ways. It can occur on the road while driving, or even while walking across the street. Regardless of its cause, a fatal injury will have a dramatic impact on the family left behind. Not only will they have to deal with the loss of companionship, but it’s possible that their entire financial situation will be turned upside down and that they will be left with no way to support themselves.

A 45-year-old tow truck driver was killed when a car crashed into him as he was loading a disabled vehicle onto his truck. According to the investigation, a Chevy Silverado that was being driven by a 21-year-old man went into the emergency lane on the roadway. It was there that the tow truck driver was in the process of clearing a disabled Pontiac Grand Prix. The tow truck driver was outside his truck when he was hit.

When a person goes to work in the morning, the last thing they expect is that it will be the last time they see their family. On the same token, the family doesn’t expect to receive a call from the police informing them that their loved one is dead after an accident. However, this does happen all too frequently. When it does, there are many issues that must be sorted out. From funeral costs to the loss of companionship and financial issues, a fatal accident has far-reaching ramifications that are not considered in its immediate aftermath. Those who have suffered a loss in a fatal accident need to understand their rights and consider seeking compensation to help them move forward.

In this accident, a tow truck driver was simply doing his job when a vehicle veered into the lane he was in, hit and killed him. The circumstances of the fatal accident are still being investigated, and the driver of the Silverado may be facing charges. The family of the man who was killed needs to understand their rights to seek compensation for wrongful death. In order to gather information with how to pursue litigation, they would be well-advised to discuss the matter with a qualified wrongful death attorney.
