Top 7 safest hospitals in Georgia. Is yours on the list?

| Dec 1, 2015 | Medical Malpractice

Countless hospital all across the nation have been cited for failing to follow proper safety protocols that have led to never events-or accidents that unnecessarily occur from the negligent acts of physicians or hospital staff.

To maintain transparency and awareness, many nonprofit organizations, like the Leapfrog Group, often keep tabs on hospitals and how they’re performing.

The group recently conducted a survey using 2014 government data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Over 2500 hospitals nationwide were analyzed and a list of the top scoring entities, including those located in Georgia, was released.

The entities in the group all received a letter grade, from A-F, based on various factors such as the number of patient infections, staffing levels, hospital standards and safety procedures put in place, among others.

Out of the hundreds studied, 69 were located in the state of Georgia and seven received an “A” grade. They include:

  1. Eastside Medical Center in Snellville, Georgia
  2. Northside Forsyth Hospital in Cumming, Georgia
  3. Northside Hospital in Sandy Springs, Georgia
  4. Piedmont Fayette Hospital in Fayetteville, Georgia
  5. Piedmont Henry Hospital in Stockbridge, Georgia
  6. Piedmont Newnan Hospital in Newnan, Georgia
  7. Wellstar Douglas Hospital in Douglasville, Georgia

Although the study sheds light on patient safety, medical errors, sadly, will continue to occur. And when they do, individuals are encouraged to seek out experienced legal advocacy to help them seek compensation for their injuries.
