Elizabeth “El” Haynes Brown is a litigator with a strong foundation in both criminal and civil litigation. El began her legal career as a plaintiffs’ personal injury and medical malpractice paralegal. This early experience provided her with valuable insight into case development, client advocacy, and the complexities of injury-related claims.
Prior to joining Bird Law Group, El served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Coweta Judicial Circuit, where she represented the State of Georgia in numerous criminal proceedings and vigorously advocated for victims’ rights. Her courtroom experience sharpened her trial advocacy skills, which she then transferred into civil litigation practice with a focus on general liability defense.
El earned her Juris Doctorate from Georgia State University College of Law, graduating summa cum laude. During law school, El received numerous honors for her academic excellence and advocacy, including induction into the Order of the Coif and the Order of the Barristers. El served as Vice President of the Student Trial Lawyers Association mock trial team, competing in the Judge Paul Joseph Kelly Jr. Invitational Trial Competition and twice in the National Trial Competition. In recognition of her commitment to public service, she received the Alex Patafio Public Interest Leadership Award, the Georgia Legal Services Program’s Pro Bono Powerhouse Law Student Award, and the Highest Distinction for Pro Bono Student Practice. El holds a Bachelor of Science from Western Carolina University.
Outside of her legal practice, El enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, and doing pro bono projects with local legal aid organizations. El lives in Dunwoody with her husband and cat.
